ME 163 Komet

Just finished this one up yesterday. It's a Heller 1/72 kit. Diorama shows one taking off with the wheels released and in the water.

I happened to like this aircraft as a kid, gravitating to it's bulbous shape. Nice paint scheme interpretation, Cobraman, with the inclusion of the fall-away dolly, which in itself presented some engineering challenges to Messerschmitt.  Also, you might have seen the mottled green paint job on some 163 B variants; it looks exactly like the back of a Rapala Diving Minnow fishing bait. An amusing aircraft with an interesting, but sometimes harrowing history. Thanks.
