Moochies death
Posted by kpnuts on Sunday, June 1, 2014 3:26 PM

Hi all after completing AMTs Christine model I decided to do a dio of the filming of moochie's death (where he gets squished in the loading bay .

I made a start on the base.

then of course i needed a bulldozer to push Christine into the loading bay. as they used in the filming of it. I tried to get a 1\24-25 scale dozer but they are about a hundred quid plus postage and i wasnt paying that so i thought i would get a 1\16 and see if I could get away with that, but as you can see from the pic no way

so my only option was to cut it down this next pic shows the difference in size after cutting the cab down

and here is my best shot at cutting it down

more to post tomorrow.

then i needed to do the scaffolding for the camera and lighting to go on

here is my scratch built panavision 35mm camera

there is so much room on the dio I thought it looked a bit boreing so I have decided to add a beverages trailer to the dio for the actors and roadies, and it will be towed by this poor old girl, i will just have to bring her back to life

I was eager to see how it was going to look when put together so I temporarily placed things where they will probably end up

the matchbox is where the generator will be when i've built it I still have another couple of cameras to build and the lighting rigs to build but this is where I am upto now I probably wont start crushing Christine into the loading bay till the last as I have to build up the courage to do the damage.

So what do you think so far.

Now THAT is cool! Great concept and execution! Love it!

its from the Stephen King book and John Carpenter film Christine about a killer car who posesses Arnie then proceeds to kill people Moochie is killed by Christine (the name of the car) in a loading bay where she forces her way in to get him( she can repair herself at will)the film is full of bloopers like why Moochie didnt just jump on Christines bonet and get away, also why was the loading bay too narrow even for a car (pretty useless loading bay) but for all that its still a good film and has a cult following.

and here is yet another update,

not very good at figures this is my best attempt at hacking Moochie a before and after

and here is the progress of the tea trailer, no idea what colour I am going to paint it

started working on the Mercury tonight took it apart enough to clean.

never realized how much detail there was inside (I dont know what possesed me on the colour scheme, cant find the instructions but I blame them I cant beleive I would choose colours like that) fixed the front wheel and the only wheels and tires I have for the back are too big so have had to jack up the rear suspension. dont know weather to change the colour scheme on the interior or not as once the body is on you cant see it. and I have noticed the rear bumper is missing and the drivers side rear lights are missing so that's another thing to fix but getting there.

unfortunately one of the super troupers failed and to fix it I would have to take it all apart, so, since its glued in place it will have to stay off (insert swear word here).
So what do you think have I pulled it off

A model of an actual event using models of the actual things to depict the making of an actual movie! What is that? A metamodel? Really cool!

That's really cool! Yeah, I've seen plenty of models of scenes from movies but not many of the filming of a scene from a movie. Awesome idea and great job pulling it off!

Hey !

This is what lawyers used to use, to show the jury the action while explaining the plaintiff's injuries .I have built my share of those , down to and including leaking oil and jury rigged wiring.     T.B.
