V-1 Buzz Bomb in launch position
Posted by GreenTerrorz on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 10:40 AM

First time posting, also recently got back into modeling. This is my first non-Sci Fi build since I was a child.

Recent completed build featuring a V-1 Rocket Bomb sitting on launch ramp.

Filled gaps with Vallejo putty was used on the wings and Tamiya putty was used on the hull.

Creating camo design as well as pre-shading:

After painting with Tamiya acrylic paint and applying decals:

Weathering using a mix of Tamiya panel line products, Oil paints, and Tamiya dry pigments:

Created launch ramp using foam and styrene among other mixed media:

Start of diorama base using foam and PVA glue:

Painting launch ramp after applying roughly 4 layers of PVA glue to protect the foam:

Starting the layout of the diorama as well as weathering of launch ramp:

Noch XL meadow grass was added as well as a few Woodland Scenic vegitation products. Added rocks, sand and twigs to help diversify the landscape.

Added balsa wood around the base and did a slight bit more weathering to tie everything together. Completed diorama:

Excellent job GT! What brand is the V1?

Guess I was busy between xmas and new years because I missed this as well.  That's fantastic!  And first build since childhood?  Great groundwork and diorama concept as well.  Have you been building scifi stuff in the mean time?  Love to see more of your work.  Welcome!

Thanks,

John

Excellent work GT. This little diorama flows. Besides the V-1 rocket I especially like your groundwork.
