Verlinden Bases
Posted by Squatch88 on Friday, June 26, 2015 2:17 PM

I just received my 1/72 Verlinden US WWII service area base. It was kinda pricey but I felt like treating myself. The picture on the box looks great and I would like to do the same thing. It has external fuel tanks, oil cans, work bench, ammo crates. The center where the plane will go is steel plating. So whats the best way to go about painting this? I've never really painted anything other than planes, so this is new territory for me as far as ground colors and weathering. I use acrylics and use a lot of Valejo.

If you use acrylics and Vallejo then you are all set, IMO. Its not that far from painting planes.  Got any pics of this box art?  If its the look of steel plating you look for maybe Alclad paint or Bare Metal foil would help?
