Modelers Block

I recently started on a diorama of the winter war but has hit a road stop mostly due to the lack of Russian figures for the era. I was just curious if anyone knew of any sets that would be useful it would be much appreciated.

I'm afraid that I don't have an answer for you on this, but will be following along, as that's exactly my area of interest. What is your solution for Finnish soldiers, WWI German figures? They wore so much home-brought coats and boots and general kit that I would have guessed the Finns to be the more difficult side to model.

I used a set of Dragon germans 1942 and covered up the Y straps and used WW1 german equipment from ICM in order to be a little more accurate. I would really love to finish this diorama but I have yet to find appropriate Russians figures for the era.

Very interesting. Any luck so far? Re: the German figures -- of course the helmets should be M1916 Stahlhelms and the arms should be M1891 Mosins (or Finn variants) not 98ks. Other than that, and the SMG magazine pouch, they look okay in the picture... they're mostly snowsuit, after all. Geeked

Sorry, hit "submit" too soon.

I did see set a set of 1/35 Soviets, 1939-40 I think, at my LHS earlier this week. These look like they could be made to work.  EDIT: the quilted uniform is too late for Winter War. But still this is pretty close.
