Thanks Zvezda.

Yes, there are 4 small chains which hook onto lifting eyes that get attached to the engine. The bar is very nicely detailed when you look closely.

Fantastic!!! Makes me want to step in and give them a hand Big Smile.

Is the already hoisted item, a spreader bar for the engine? Nice detail!

And all these in 1/72... Bow Down

Thats for the comments guys, and the rosette Hunter.

Bruce, i have seen one of those sets, one of the guys at the model club brought one in. They look very nice, shame they only do them in 48th. Fortunatly those jack stands are the same type that Airmodel does, but they don't do the other parts.

Bish, wow! Outstanding work!

Funny, last night I came across a company that sells resin aircraft stands. See them here Then I thought it would be cool to make a dio with a 109 or 190 getting an engine replaced. And your dio is exacting what I was picturing in my head! Great job!

Cheers guys, its very much appreciated.

Clint, the 48th one does look very nice, it has a real chain instead of a PE one so you can adjust the length. If you didn't see it, there is a link to there site on the WiP thread. I think they can only be bought direct, and they are in Germany. But the service is very good.

Outstanding workmanship, Bish.  What a great looking 109.  And plenty of activity to charm the eye.

Nice work!

Tamiya Bf 109E-3 completed
Posted by Bish on Sunday, February 11, 2018 3:05 AM

My first dio build of the year was tamiya's 1/72nd Bf 109E-3. I added resin cockpit wheels and engine and from Airmodel in Germany the winch, crate and second engine. The tail stand was scratchbuilt with styrene wood and a piece of carpet.

Thanks for looking, all comments wlecome.
