retdfeuerwehrYour burn-out rendition is quite impressive. A few suggestions: yes, the right front tire does look out of place - the tire would most probably have been flattened, and the inside needs some charring (all the flammable engine fluids would expose it to some very high heat; the burned tire's steel belting looks like it had been simply placed over the wheel, not around it; the truck body's sheet metal might be a tad blacker, with lightening toward the area of origin - the amount of rust would be determined by how long the rig would've been exposed to the elements (and it doesn't take long); some annealed seat springs would be visible; a nice touch would be some melted clear plastic around the windshield frame and some melted glass on the ground. I've both extinguished and investigated a ton of car fires in my career - no two are the same and your effort is quite realistic.
Thank you.
Total realism.

Greg I agree, amazing work. So many of our friends above have mentioned it looks real in the photos. And yes, it truly does. When I was looking at the first shot, before I started scrolling down, I thought you were showing us a pic of a real one.

Griffin25 Dang, that is crazy GOOD. If you could post a few steps or techniques of how you achieved those amazing results that would be awesome.

Just posted a short overview of what I did, in quote to another post above this post. Do Check it out.
Gamera Love the results!!! I too would swear it were the real thing if I didn't see the base. If you ever have time to do a walk-though I'd love to see it. I've been wanting to do something like that to a T-34 for years now but not really sure how to start.

Thank you. Ok. A short over view of what I did. The effect is rather simple. I used Rust, black, Grey and white pigments. I started off with painting everything with Tamiya Grey ground spray paint. I do not own an air brush.
Then I started off with Mig rust pigment over everything. Then I moisten everything with a AK interactive solution. Then I spray everything with a Matt spray. This fixes the pigments in place as well as gives it a kind of pattern due to the chemical reacting to each other, which I kinda like.
Then I just added Grey, black and different shades of rust pigments little at a time until I got the effect I wanted. I also used white pigments from Humboldt. It helps to have photo of your reference truck in front of you.
Before I started I collected many photos of Burnt out trucks to get get an idea of what the different effects look like. That is pretty much it.
Then the last thing I did was used the sponge effect to add some white paint at various areas on the truck, to break up the monotone overall burn effect.
I hope this is helpful.
Bakster This is as real as real can get. I love it. Beautiful work!

Thank you. Glad you like it.
goldhammer Have looked in on a couple of your other "fire" builds, and all are very well done, as this one is. Don't take this the wrong way, but you do have a pyro streak in you.....and I like it.
