WW1 Trench Scene
Posted by Griffin25 on Sunday, August 12, 2018 9:54 PM

I assembled and painted this Verlinden base and modified a couple of Tamiya WW2 French infantry figures to a WW1 look years ago. Today I found the original figures, cleaned them up, and did version 2. I did this vignette before I had glasses. I didn't realize I couldn't see sh!t. I didn't realize all the flash and seams I missed before. It was eye-opening/ embarrassing. So I retouched the figures and tried again. Try finding a 1/35 Lebel rifle 5 years ago. I got it from Switzerland! Lol

Nice job.  Not a lot of WWI figures represented.  I totally get you about the glasses thing.  When I first got my optivisor it was too much.  Now...its perfect....lol.

If you like this era and figures check out Jaguar's 120mm "Over The Top" Vignette - a British captain getting ready to go over the wall.  Really nice kit.  Happy to share a link to my build if you care to see.

Thanks,

John

Yes I would like to see it! WW1 stuff is a bit neglected. WW1 shaped the world as we know it today. Very important to understanding our modern world. Not many people bother looking back that far. It's upsetting to me. It wasn't that long ago.

I've done only a couple.  This Jaguar kit (like every Jaguar kit I've done) was fantastic.  Everything but the wood base was included

I don't recall the manufacturer of this kit, but its a WWI marine

Thanks,

John

Oh ya I remember that first one. What a great kit. Excellent painting. I really like WW1 stuff.
