Last Dance diorama
Posted by ols books on Saturday, May 11, 2019 10:10 PM

New to this forum.  Figured I share 2 recently completed pieces. The shrimp boat is called "Last Dance".   The steamboat is called "Twains Mistress". Never a big ship modelers and first real attempts at water.  Used articles in "Damaged" as pointers.  Last Dance uses resin while Twains Mistress used a "home brew" for the water.   Both are Linberg kits.  Better smoke (using dryer lint) is in the works.

I hoped to be able to post pix without going thru a pic hosting site.  I had included them in the text hoping they would post.  The fine print terms and conditions of sites like photobucket and flickr are a bit too much to accept.

Perhaps  one exists that doesn't cause so much heartburn.  I'll keep looking.

Sorry for the tease.  I thought (hoped) they would post as an integral part of the text or as a pdf.

Yeah, I'm not even seeing the links. There's some advice around here on posting photos. I'd attempt to help but the last time I think the recepient ended up more confused than when I started.

Very nice work, Ols Books!  I built a huge model of a Mississippi paddle boat back in the 60s. Don't even remember what company made it. Wish I still had it...

BTW, I went through the wringer with Photobucket and I tried Flickr but it was too hard to use. Tried PhotoImage but they were unreliable. Then I found ImageShack. I bought a years contract for around $30 and it's been great. Stable, reliable and easy to use. They have a free 30 day trial - check it out.

Fine examples of your work. In regards to hosting sights I also ran into problems found ImgBB.com upload a photo and post no charges; just another option.

If you have your pics hosted on Deviantart, all you have to do is copy the address from there and post them here using the icon in the post field that looks like a picture of a mountain and moon.  Paste the address in the source block.

They look really nice.  Good job.

Are those photos Gino posted the ones you are referring to?

Suzanne?

I use Fotki. It's $ 24/ year, ad free and easy to navigate.

Modeling is an excuse to buy books.

Those are the ones he is talking about.  "Last Dance" and "Twains Mistress" are the names of the dioramas, not the vessels.  They are on his DivianArt site that he posted the link to.
