Thank you kindly! Actually,with display space at a premium, building for others keeps the display space saved for the super special builds! I take a good set of photos before donating or gifting, so I will always have a record of the build.

Thanks! The smoke actually IS thick! lol doused a couple cotton balls in water with some lamp black acrylic paint, squeezed out the excess, let them dry and hot glued them together, pinching and twisting the individual cotton balls to look like undulating smoke. Then hit it with Tamiya Smoke for added depth.
All on an armature of a pice of bent wire, and hot glued in place on the stack....
In the pattern: Scale Shipyard's 1/48 Balao Class Sub! leaning out the list...NOT! Ha, added to it again - Viper MkVii, 1/32 THUD & F-15J plus a weekend madness build!
Completed my build of Revell's NYCentral Hudson this morning! I started this build as a gift for a friend, and was able to deliver it to him this afternoon as an early Christmas present.

I was able to complete the basework for the scene over last weekend. I will need to smooth and paint the edges black, add the trees, the Loco, and wire it all up, and she will be finished!

Actuslly, it is much smaller, now that I trimmed it down to its final size- basically I trimmed it down where the tan ends.
Also, it is a gift for a friend....

I had this build started in the Figures and Misc. sub, but it never quite fit in over there. Now that I have started on the scenery, I will transfer the build journey here.
I started with Revell's 1/87 Scale NYCentral Hudson, dressed up in Pennsylvania Railroad livery:
I am placing it in a wooded scene in autumn colors. I have started my base construction with laying the track and roadbed. I am building this on inch and a half thick Expanded Polystyrene Foam Insulation board, available at any home center.
Here I test fit the layout before putting the foliage on the trees
once laying the track was complete, I started making my autumn trees using woodland scenics armatures and clum foliage in fall colors
