Hey Gamera, at least my diorama is conveying Winter in the Ardennes in 1944. Hey Baron, thanks for the shadow box tip.

As far as the trees go, you model them to depict the trunks and lower branches, in scale, up to a constant horizontal line.  Kind of like a picture frame, or the top of a shadow box.  That's another option-make a shadow box. Not in the style of a small aperture through which to look, but with an open "fourth wall".  The trees can reach to the top of the box, and you'll avoid the look of some of the smaller trees you currently have.  And you can install the back drop in a curve along the back of the box.

Looks good to me! I like the new backdrop. I'm sitting here with a space heater going and still your dio is making feel chilly! 

I felt like the background photos of the Bois Jacques were not adequate, so as soon as the 1st snow storm hit my area, I was able to take some better photos that really show the woods in Bois Jacques back then. I hope they produce that effect. BTW, I tried not to show the size of my trees, which were an object of critique previously. . As always all comments and critiques are greatly appreciated.

Oh that's nice work! As Bill says the trees do look a little off but I see your point on not hiding the figures.

Really great at eye level.

All of the close in views even make the viewer feel cold.

The trees however don't work.

At 1/35 they'd still be at least a foot to two or three feet tall.

There's one shot where the other side is kind of in a fog, really has depth.

Thanks for the comments Bill. I really didn't want to make the trees too tall. The focus was more on the soldiers on the ground. Also it makes it hard on storage space.
