Decals Galor.....
Posted by Butz on Friday, December 5, 2008 2:32 AM

Early morn,

While the Dungeon is almost done being remodeled, I took the time to take inventory of my decals stashBanged Head [banghead].

I broke them up into their respected mfgr's, then clumped them into Allied/Axis and Korean War - Present(All Countries).

I essentially put the stock number, type of a/c and units if avalible from the cover page. However I did not jot down every Unit, Sqdrn, FW ect because this will be used as a quick reference when it comes time to hunt decals. or ordering new ones..

After 3 nights this is what I have thus far... Its pretty amazing to see what you have after years of collecting/building..

Still have Super Scale & Cutting Edge to go through... Anywho, it would be cool to see what everybody has in terms of decals as we did with our unbuilt kits..

Have fun..... I sure didTongue [:P] Oh yea, it's a lil long too...

Mike-

Shock [:O] Man, that's a lot of decals!  Now you just need to look through them and see how many of each type of aircraft you can model.  For instance, last time I checked I had enough to do 64 different Corsairs. Blush [:I]

That's a lot of work, but not a bad idea. Thumbs Up [tup]

2 boxes sorted by service and country, but it still seems like I go to my ALPS printer to get what I REALLY want.  I refuse to inventory them.

Butz,

This is amazing.  What will you do with them all, can you build that many kits?

That's a very impressive decal stash.  Unlikely you'll ever use them all, but nice to have in any case.

Howdy Frank,

Heh heh.. I just counted not including the four F-16 sheets I just ordered the other day from twobob's.. I have enough decals to make + or - 126 16's..

 See any you like?Wink [;)]

Whats even funnier is that I need only one more set from twobob's and I will have all their decals for the 16. Ok except for one which is out of print..

Hey Thad,

I know what you mean.. You think you have enough until one of the decal mfg's announce their new line...Banged Head [banghead]

Thanks again for stopping in and seeing what I have collected over the year's.. Some folks may think its a waste of time & $$ but I am proud to I own and enjoy sharing...

O yea as for building... I see myself living for a very very very very long timeTongue [:P]

Mike, I live 10 miles from Davis, CA, and about the time they built the Frog Tunnel I'm pretty sure they also voted out floods within 30 miles...

What's to worry with that kind of help?

Dear Sir,

Couldn't help seeing your post and formidable collection. I was wondering. Would you be willing to part with your aeromaster "Mossey Collection, Part 2 (48-299) ? I'd be willing to give you more than a fair price.

Thanks for the consideration.

Regards,

Foxbat1

I realize this post is over two years old, but if you still have the Aeromaster set 48-099 - Mustangs over Korea, I'd be interested in it, if you're willing to part with it.

Butz, I sent you a private message with more details, but you haven't responded.  Hopefully you'll see this.

Thanks.
