1/48 Boeing B-54A Ultrafortress
Posted by kazubb on Wednesday, May 18, 2011 5:17 PM

I'm interested in building a 1/48 Boeing B-54A Ultrafortress. This was the final variation of the B-29, a modified B-50. Has anyone built a 1/48 B-54? Are there any 1/48 B-54 conversion kits?

As a side note, Anigrand offers this unique aircraft as a 1/144 kit:

Also, where can I get a B-50 conversion kit for the 1/48 Revell B-29? I've seen them but I don't know where people are buying them.

No one has ever made an XB-54 conversion in 1/48.

I'm seeing a pattern here.

Too bad... Both aircraft would be cool to see in larger scale like 1/48

I don't think there is yet a 1/48 B-29 to B-50 conversion. If you want to go 1/72 and use some modeling skills you could probably make it happen.

Excuse me.. Is that an Uzi?

Yes,there is a 1/48 to make a B-50 by Paragon, and in 1/72 Academy has made a B-50 kit (#2112), in addition to various conversions that have been available.

I have to confess that I was unaware that this aircraft ever even existed. I'm intrigued.

It was a paper airplane just like the paper panzers. One was started, but not finished according to Wiki.

Yeah, I think production was canceled on it. I don't think any were ever built but I thought it would be a cool model.
