If that is a real image, the artwork is pretty dull for a Tamiya box.

If you look close you can see that it is photoshopped... bad

Looks indeed like a flight sim pic,...stupid, could of got away with it with some more work...
Pretty dull actually, why waste your time on something as faking model boxes...

Didn't even need to look close, lol...I didn't bother with the box.. It was pretty obvious just looking at the aircraft..

Tamiya's box-artwork (even though it's nowhere close the the Revell 1/32 kits of the 60s) is far better and has more "action" than that one does..

why waste your time on something as faking model boxes...

Yeah.. Could be making Group Build badges instead, right? Wink

I've been reading for a few months now that the next 1/32 Tammy is indeed going to be a Corsair...seems logical enough, but yeah, total p-shop.

On the Bench: 1/32 Trumpeter P-47 | 1/32 Hasegawa Bf 109G | 1/144 Eduard MiG-21MF x2

On Deck:  1/350 HMS Dreadnought

Because it's that time of year. School is letting out and a lot of youngsters now have more idle time on their hands to play on the internet... it happens every year here.

Yupper.. Plus, a Corsair should never be flying "Straight and Level".. And if you're gonna rip off someone's artwork, at least pick decent one...

Or take a screenshot of the Corsair when everything's "Down & Dirty"..

tamiya should look into modern AC also.

In 1/32 Tamiya has done the F-4C/D, F-4E, F-4J, F-14A, F-15C, F-15E, and F-16CJ. All they need to do is an F/A-18 to cover all the prime fighters of the USAF/USN/USMC of the last 45 years. Of course there also remain the MiG and Mirage families (which Revell touched upon in the 1970s)... And Trumpeter or Hasegawa covers pretty much most everything else out there for mainstream single seat modern A/C.

I didn't need to take a close look either, but I mean for the people who didn't notice it.
The 'artwork' was a complete giveaway for me too.

And yeah godda** rigtht you could be building awesome groupbuild badges instead! lol
At least these serve for a 'good' purpose and these are being used for a good reason and I can tell you, making groupbuild badges is much more fun than doing what this guy did.
At least I don't try to manipulate you guys or anything like that. Stick out tongue

And yeah, I just try to take good pictures of images when making ANYTHING in photoshopPropeller, and this takes time too if you don't have anything like that on your computer.
And I agree, corsairs look way more badass when not flying 'straight and level'!

I'd buy a Tamiya Corsair, but I'd be even quicker on the buy button for a 1/32 Tamiya P-38.  Drooling just thinking about it...

Do you know what might be kind of neat?  If some of the more computer savy and talented people here would create a thread showing some "what if" model box art.  For example, the box for the new 1/48 scale Monogram F7-U Cutlass!!!  Or how about for the new 1/48 scale Revell FH-1 Phantom!!!

I doubt we'll ever see these models so we might as well dream about what the boxes might look like.

Wow... guess I'll be doing a Corsair soon.  Still a lot of backlog, though.  In other news, look at the kit and accessory costs on HLJ now that the yen has crashed.  Holy moly... there's a lot of folks holding domestic stock of Tamiya items that are going to be very upset you can now order them directly from Japan and get them a lot cheaper, even with shipping.

You guys will really be amazed when Tamiya uses the box art shown in this tread for the box cover!

Just checked Tamiya USA's website. They list a 32nd scale F4U-1 birdcage as "Coming soon" . There is no other information or any illustrations shown. A 1/32 Birdcage is going to be hard to resist.

Even a Birdcdage?

Oh, god! I need this kit....

That's what I said to myself. I'd be a lot more likely to resist a -1A than a birdcage.
