Rocker - What Mike said, hope to see the model when completed, some of the Italian airplanes had such a graceful appearance, very aerodynamic. A guy is hard pressed to find a better buddy than a good dog, I wish him a full recovery and a long, healthy life.

Nice build. I really love the looks of the Italian fighters, from the Fiat CR32/42 to the Macchi's. Great looking planes.

Thanks for the comments and well-wishes, folks. My dog is home recovering, however the pathology reports came back and the tumor was cancerous :( Everyone in the house is pretty beat up about it including me, but he'll be going to an animal oncologist in a few weeks and we're gonna see what we can do about getting him treatments...and in the meantime we're gonna cherish every moment we have with him! I was able to do a little bit more work on the Veltro today, here's the latest shot: It's definitely coming together quite nicely.

Hey everyone- things have settled down a bit over here. My dog Bobby has pretty much made a full recovery from a very tricky surgery, and just had his first chemotherapy treatment yesterday. As of right now, he's back to his old hyperactive self! And with things settling down, I was finally able to get back to my bench and do some work on my Veltro. I painted portions of the underside with Testors Light Ghost Gray, I did get some paint in some areas I didn't want it in...but I'll fix those areas tomorrow. I also painted the spinner and added that awesome black spiral to it as well. The spiral took a lot of patience to put on there, but it looks good! Tonight I painted the white theatre band around the back section of the fuselage. Tomorrow I'll paint the rest of it!

I'm glad things are settling down for you, welcome back.  

My old tired eyes are not suitable for 1/72 scale anymore but it sure looks like yours are.

Thanks Jay Jay! I did a bit more work on it tonight. I'm going to do the Italian Sand/Euro Dark Green smoke ring camo for this plane. As you can see, I painted the airplane with the Euro Dark Green first. Some of you might be scratching your heads, wondering why in the world I'd go with that color first. That's because back when the March 2013 issue of FSM came out, Pablo Bauleo wrote an excellent article about Italian smoke ring camo, and detailed a helpful and easy process as far as painting this scheme goes! If you've got that issue handy, you'll know exactly what I'm up to. If not, I'll be taking more photos of my progress and you can find out what I'm up to as I go along!

I've finished applying the liquid masking film! I used syringes first, but the lures I was using were either too small or the film too thick: the result was all the needles got clogged and I couldn't use them to apply the film after the first few rings. Not a big deal however, I took a sewing needle, dipped it in the film and gently applied the film on the surface of the airplane. I can't wait for the film to dry, I want to paint the thing again!

Put the first coat of "Italian sand" paint on this thing. I want to peel up the masks so darned bad and see the camo rings....but this sorta thing takes patience!

The second coat of Italian Sand went on this morning, and this evening it was all dry. I took the masks off about half an hour ago- the smoke rings came out great!

Well everyone, I finished up my Veltro tonight! I'm quite pleased at how it turned out!! Thanks to everyone for the kind words and for checking out my plane.

I have a MC 205 in 1/72 by "Air Lines",  they are very small kits. Good work rocker.
