A fine Cuban Bis. (Eduard Mig-21)
Posted by Nathan T on Friday, October 17, 2014 6:43 PM

Just finished this build for Stikpusher's Latin American GB. Its a little past due but its now done and it was a fine build. The Eduard Line of Mig-21's are fantastic. Great detail, plenty of options, and perfect fit, even when loaded with Brassin Items such as this build. I fitted the Brassin cockpit and Exhaust nozzle, along with Brassin wheels and a Master Model Pitot tube. The Weekend kits are a bit lacking in essentials, as Eduard now no longer offers stencils with them, and the decals they do give you are of a lesser quality. I ended up using decals from Aztec for this bird:

The 4 color top camo was a bit tricky and I ended up mixing a few of the shades from Gunze colors. Here's a shot of the brassin pit and seat:

Comments/Critiques welcome.

I started this very kit yesterday, I hope mine turns out half as good as yours. Excellent work!

Thanks for the comments guys. Glue Bomber- No reason you shouldn't have a great looking kit in the end. Eduard did right on this one.

Man, what an eye for color you have !  it looks just like the pic of the real thing.

I'm impressed with your ambitious  4 color camo too.  I'm working up the courage to try a 3 color on my F-6 and that's just straight line blues and grey.

Thanks guys. Glad this one's still turning heads. The camo colors were actually fairly easy to nail down; it was the pattern that was difficult. No rhyme or reason to the pattern or layout whatsoever.

Nathan, how much weight did you add to the front to keep the tail up?

Hmmm, not sure exactly... I used some 3/8 washers glued together. I wanna say 10-20 grams?
