Let me present to you the 1/48 scale by Hasegawa
Strike Fighter Squadron 213 (VFA-213) Black lions is an aviation unit of the United States Navy based at Naval Air Station Oceana, Virginia (USA). It was established in 1955 and is currently equipped with the Boeing                 The squadron is assigned to Carrier Air Wing Eight and uses the radio callsign Lion.

This was painted using Tamyia and Vellejo paints, I use the lax box ejector seats, and the Hasegawa missile sets, the engine covers were made from modelling clay, hope you enjoy

Excellent work. I love the colorful scheme and your paintwork. The Black Lions had some nice markings on their Tomcats too. Beer

That's a great looking Hornet. I love the photos too, that's really a neat way to take them.

Beautiful build, and loaded for bear, it looks.  Do I count correctly that there are 8 AIM 120s and 2 AIM 9s as well as 2 AGM 88s?  Wow.

It looks like 8 AIM-120C, 2 AIM-9X and 2 AGM-84. It's an odd loadout. Its a good looking model though.

That is some beautiful weathering on that paint!  Did you use the Eduard fabric RBF tags?

Hi Andrew I did use the fabric tags but only on the engine covers, these conformed to the creases very well.

Hi Wolfhammer, yes its odd, but the client wanted this load, he checked it with an F18 pilot that it could be loaded this way.

Its possible like the F-14 flying with six Phoenix (AIM-54). Its rarely ever done.

The F-14 could be armed with six Phoenix missiles, 4 on the pallets between the engines and 2 on the glove box hardpoints. This was rarely even done because the six phoenix would take the F-14 beyond its maximum recovery weight it trapped. So if the F-14 had 6 phoenix aboard when it was landing it would have to divert to a land base or pickel 2 phoenix in to the sea.
The usual loadout for an F-14 on combat air patrol was 2 AIM-54C, 2 AIM-7, and 2 AIM-9.

I wish I hadn't made the earlier comment. A judge at a show didn't like my model airplane once for such a reason. I started researching loaduts after that. Your Rhino is an awesome build, far better than anything I have done.

Mike,

Hopefully it isn't too late, the carrier deck you used is for an LHA/LHD vice a CVN.  The "crow's foot" markings are for helo landing spots.

Having actually seen that specific aircraft up close and personal, you nailed it.  Fantastic build!
