Hello all, this is my latest build, Skyhawks are one of my favourite aircraft and this one is no exception, especially with that red roo on those roundels! I may be a bit off on the shade of grey but I am happy with it. Last time I sprayed white on a Navy bird I used Tamiya and had troubles with the finish, so this time I used Italeri and it went down real well.

Kit- Italeri A-4 E/F/G Skyhawk
Extras- lead wire for ejector seat handles and brake lines on landing gear
Paints- main camo- Italeri acrylic for white and Gumze acrylic for grey, other paints used, Tamiya, Vallejo and Mr Metalizers and Klear for gloss coats
Decals- Kit decals, they set really well with some Sol
Final coat was Vallejo Satin acrylic varnish.

And the real deal. A Royal Australian Navy Douglas A-4G Skyhawk ("886") of 805 Squadron taxis in after performing its routine at Naval Air Station at Nowra (HMAS Albatross).  The A-4G 886 (USN BuNo 154907) was lost at sea when it rolled off the deck of RAN carrier HMAS Melbourne (R21) on 24 September 1979. Melbourne was caught in a storm circa 350 km east of Australia when the ship suddenly rolled 20 degrees to starboard and the aircraft was lost.
