Hasegawa P-51 Mustang
Posted by Toshi on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 12:52 PM

To my fellow forum members,

Many moons ago, my grandmother from Japan sent me a Scale Model kit of a P-51 Mustang product from Hasegawa.  I think?  It could have been a Tamiya, but after some research, I'm positive it's a Hasegawa.  Why Hasegawa?  I recall that one of the wing panels could be removed to show the 50 cal. guns as well as the amo belt.  I also remembered the assembly of the Rolls Royce engine and how it was displayed with the cowling off.  This kit was impressive to say the least.  Please note, I statrted Scale Model building during a time when Monogram and Revell were the kings of the mountain top, sure there was AMC and a few other obscure names as well.  Tamiya and Hasegawa were from another planet as far as I was concerned.

Anyway, I'm jumping way ahead of myself due to my excitement of my current build, the Revell/Monogram P-61 Black Widow, once completed, I'll then turn my attention to this particular project.  Do any forum members have any suggestions in regards to another product?  ie: Tamiya, GWH, etc.?  Please let me know as I'm always open to any and all comments good and or bad!

humbly yours,

Toshi
