Absoutely stunning Hellcat. Great paint work and excellent weathering. You should be right proud of the outcome on this one. You've got to just love those Eduard Hellcats. They are excellent kits. I just recently finished their 1/72 F6F-3 and it was a dream to build. Thanks for sharing with us.

Another amazing build, I still don't know how you members are able to highlight the panels!  What a fantastic job, I love the side by side with the Japanese aircraft.

Very true Joe, the Eduard kit is a gem, I only used a drab of putty here and there, fit is like a glove. And with the PE and masks included you only need to add paint and cement- if it were any simpler it'd assemble itself!

Went out and picked up the F6F-5 night-fighter Hellcat a little while back, it's all over glossy blue so it should be even simpler!

I 've got an HSG F6 in the stash and envisoined mine looking just like that if I can pull it off.  My builds are always better in my mind than the actual outcome however. Very impressive build.

I have to admit there are a few little 'issues' here and there that would get me dinged in a contest that don't really show in the photos though! 

Jay Jay: The Hasegawa Hellcat is a really nice kit too, I've heard people knock it for shape issues on the intake on the lower cowling front (the Hellcat's mouth as it were) but otherwise fit is really solid. 

And it's funny, I had the Shiden 'George' sitting there and just figured 'what the heck' I'll just snap a photo of both of them together while I was taking pictures.

Gorgeous Hellcat, Gamera! Just wonderful work. 

I especially like the panel highlighting and weathering, very convincing; subtle, yet effective. In fact, when I clicked on this post, for a moment I thought the first photo was of a 1:1 Hellcat at an outdoor museum display! Well done!

Joe: Yeah, I went out and bought 'Dogfights' a year or so ago, wish History would do more like it. I did use your streaking technique on the Hellcat though I'm not sure it shows in the photos- I'm still a little gunshy about going too stark with it. Thanks for the inspiration and the help there!
