Keep in mind: omit the switch panel on the right-hand side of the cockpit for wartime Stearmans.

Not only is it a really nice kit, at price around seventeen bucks it has to be one of the best bargains going today.

Sorry for the extended silence Waikong, and to all that have commented.  I put this up just before I went to Dallas for a conference which I extended to some R&R in New Orleans.   Just got back and need a little detox time.  I think my blood may be flammable at this point.  I'll get back to this soon I swear.

Marc, you were in Dallas in Jan? Talk about coincidence, so was I visiting family.  Hope you had some free time to visit the Cavaugugh flight museum or Frontiers of Flight Musuem. Both worth visiting when  you are in Dallas

Finally, some progress.
Motor, prop & seats.  Found a set of US seat belts in the back of  draw.  OK, didn't really "find" then since I had a vague recollection I had picked them up ages ago.  Molded in belts were scraped away and the PE belts added.

The beginnings of the interior.

Prop hub was drilled out and a piece of 1mm aluminum tubing was polished and a holes drilled through to replace the plastic nub that was there.

Painfully slow build but here's where it stands.  Just peeled off all the masking, some tense moments, and got to see the results of the 1st time. After the top of the wing was painted yellow I used a post-it to mask 1 side of each rib and sprayed a very diluted clear orange to give some depth.

1st time painting markings with a mask.  Tedious, but there will be more painted markings in my future.  A guy on HS cut these for me as he had it all set up from his Stearman so I am doing the same one he did.  I like this better than the all yellow of yellow/blue typically seen.

Hey Martin, So sorry I missed oyur post.  But I took your advise.  I DID enjoy the rest of the build. Stick out tongue

I hope the old saying, "Imitation is the highest form of flattery" still holds true since is pretty much an exact copy of Tony Bell's Stearman posted on HS about July (?) of last year.  He copied the bird operated by Waldo Wright's Flying Service making his own masks for the markings and offered to cut me the same masks.  I accepted.

I did screw up 1 thing though.  After making the fuel lines I never installed them and didn't realized until the upper wing was permanent and all the rigging done.  I tried to get it in the and just don't have the dexterity I once had. :(

Oh man, that's one sweet Stearman. You really nailed it. Meanwhile, my unbuilt kits are there in my office, like a silent sentinel, mocking me...

Nicely done!  Love those yellow wings. But slow? maybe for you, compared to me you are a supersonic jet.

Great looking Stearman.  I love the paint scheme.  I to just finished up mine.  It was for the Secret Santa GB.  The all Yellow paint with the red bands drove me nuts.  I learn a ton with mine.

Keep up the great work.
