You free handed that? You did better than i did on mine. I had to go and touch up mine with a little dry brushing to get mine to look the way it does.

I should have also warned you much sooner, but Pappy's squadron didn't have rocket equiped Corsairs. That's why I removed those from the wings and moved the bombs inboard of the wheel wells on scratch built racks.

I don't know if you want to change this so late in the build - especially after paint - but now you know.

The freehand airbrushing came out really well, Toshi. 1/72's not that difficult. Its actually half the work compared to a 1/48. lol!

 Here is my completed Testors 1/72 F4U-1 Corsair.  Everything is a OOB build except the antenna.  I did my very first scratch building with that.  If you can call it even that.  LOL!  Compared to everyone else on this forum, it's probably a joke.  LOL!  I used stretched sprue.  The hardest part was getting it to scale.  Once I got it to scale, I drilled holes so that I had a stronger hold for the antenna.  

I normally use EZ-Line but this time I said what the hell and I stretched the sprue as thin as I could and used that instead.  I used Tamiya extra thin cement to attached the extra thin sprue to complete the antenna, so don't laugh!  I sure did!  LOL!  I hope you all enjoyed my 1/72 Corsair build.  My gift from above.

I consider 1/72 scale more challenging to paint because of the smaller size making freehand demarcation lines tighter than in the larger scales. So with that said, great airbrushing job Toshi.

With the effects of the seisure, you did another excelent job.

I got the same kit last year a couple of hundred miles from home.  Have the wings, tail and fuselage together, and need to get the rest done.

Your Corsair came out really nice Toshi. I have a couple of those in my stash yet to be built. Do you still frequent Hobby Lobby much? I was there for the first time in awhile last weekend and saw that they had some new releases on the shelves. I wound up buying (off of their clearance table) a twin pack of a small scale Lindberg Models ship kit.

I love the Corsair - my favorite aircraft from WWII. Great comparison shot for the size difference. I'll stick to 1/48 though since I'm used to building a/c kits that size - 1/72 too small, 1/32 too large, 1/48 in the Goldilocks zone .

I love the Corsair - my favorite aircraft from WWII. Great comparison shot for the size difference. I'll stick to 1/48 though since I'm used to building a/c kits that size - 1/72 too small, 1/32 too large, 1/48 in the Goldilocks zone .
