Hello Everyone,
I bought this kit for my son, but he just couldnt get past the first few steps- so I took over and built it OOB. Part fit was poor, lots of sanding and filling of all major parts. I tried the hairspray technique for weathering, maybe went overboard a little, but I did want to make it look like its spent a few years in the Pacific. One problem I encountered but didnt even think of, is that after the canopies were glued and masked, I still had sanding and adjustments to do of the airframe. All these shavings made its way into the fuselage through various openings and collected in the deepest crevices and angles about the already glued glass. I didnt see this until after the plane was painted and the masks off. I tried with water, wire and cotton swabs to remove the debris, but some areas I just could not get to. Lesson learned.
Thanks,
Rob
