1/48 Monogram Do335

Looks fantastic I had built the same one until it got destroyed.  I built a Tamiya one to replace the broken Revell one.

Nice finish!  How did you do the nose spinner?

You did an outstanding job on that model. If I remember correctly that kit fits really well and is accurate. I did one of the single seaters and one of the two seaters. I am looking forward to doing the Tamia kit. The DO 335 is a great looking aircraft and again if I remember correctly it was the fastest propeller driven aircraft of the war. Again to little to late for the ***. During and after the war the U.S. and the Brits gathered copies of the Axis war machines and weapons. The U.S. had one of the DO 335s in storage in the Air and Space Museum and sent it over to Dornier in Germany to be restored put on display for a few years and returned to the U.S. Evidently WE (the U.S.) did not know that the DO335 had ejection seats and the lower vertical stablizer was held on with EXPLOSIVE bolts. If a wheels up landing had to be made the lower vertical stablizer would be blown off. Well Donier workers found the seats and the explosive bolts alive and well!!!, still armed. Good Grief!!! Again, very nice work.

I built the same kit last year ( two seat Night Fighter version). The other one is from Tamiya.

Sorry for the late response time.  The Revell/Monogram kit cannot compare to the Tamiya kit.  Tamiya's offering went together brilliantly.  Perfect all in all.

I still enjoyed the Revell/Monogram kit.  For its age it went together rather easily with some minor issues that nothing but a little putty and sanding could have taken care of.  

So for nostalgic purposes I like the Revell/Monogram but hands down Tamiya always wins!

If I may add, Zoukie Mura has a Phiel in 1/32.  I've seen it for for $150.00 to $200.00.  Let me just say it is worth every single penny!  Zoukie Mura is an exceptional company the fit, finish, and detail to modelers come to mind first.
