This collection made by Joh is just phenominal.  I have to say the Bi-Plane is extremely impressive!  Your whole lot is fantastic this month.

But as always, once again, I have my favorite of which is the Bronco.  I've made a Kitty Hawk 1/32 Bronco.  I so enjoyed the stance of Bronco.  Thank you sir for sharing your collection with us!

Hello MM!

Congratulations on new models in your collection!

Toshi is always so kind to all the people, but I think I can help you negotiate with Joh better by some brutal honesty. That Kamov - well the tail of it is seriously messed up. The left horizontal stabilizer isn't level (it should be - the right one is), and the vertical stabilizers are installed upside down. Maybe ask Joh to fix it - here's a reference photo from the internet:

And here's the model for comparison:

And somehow this helo and the Hawk are nicely shaded, but the next builds - Skyhawk, Bronco Huey and the Cobra somehow look plain and toy-like - like Joh was working under some serious time pressure. He already proved he can do better than that.

Good luck with your next commissions, thanks for sharing and have a nice day

Paweł

All comments and critique welcomed. Thanks for your honest opinions!

Thanks so much, Pawel, for dropping by and giving your comments on Joh's works. He told me earlier that building SkyHigh's Ka-25 and Amodel's Ka-31 (not yet finished) was a hell of a job. Both are short-run kits with loose parts (no sprues) looking yellowish and dirty. Apart from fitting issues, their instructions were so vague and lousy that he had to guess many times how parts go together. The Ka-25 came out better than my expectation though with peculiar tail section. The Skyhawk looks cheap and toy-like, but all the others look OK to me.

Of all the artists who work for me (4 active and 2 passive), Joh ranks the last in terms of craftsmanship. The reason I still give him commissioned works is philanthropy. He's the only bread winner for a family of four. Lately he's been relying on income from me as the main source. For the latest batch commissioned yesterday I paid him 100% in advance plus another 150% for future batches so that he can pay to condo owner this month. I've told him many times that my stock is running out fast and that he can't rely on me for so long now. Until then please have some sympathy when seeing more works from him.

Have a nice time,
MM

Model Maniac,

There are very few people like you in this world that can bring tears to my eyes.  You are one of them!  You sir, are a good human being.  People with large hearts are rare these days.  I feel I've found some human beings with large hearts hear at FSM Forums.  You sir are one of them.

My words to everyone's collection is not to be just nice.  I am sincere when I say that the Bi-Plane is fantastic.  because I cannot build like that.  Every modeler has their style.  As long as you enjoy your collection, that's all that matters.  I know, I look forward to them all the time.  Until the next time take care my friend.

Toshi

P.S. I have on arrival a Trumpeter 1/32 F4U-1D Corsair with Big Ed Set and main metal landing gears.  I also got a Kitty Hawk 1/32 Kingfisher with Big Ed Set and metal beach gears as well.  When they arrive I hope you join me by following my threads of these builds, I would be most honored if you do so sir.

Toshi,

I'm just an ordinary guy with a little kind heart. While the quality of all builds is important, I don't mind sacrificing some of them to help some people along the way. Not all my money was spent on models though. Nearly six years after retirement I still patron 5 Thai kids through the World Vision Foundation.

I'm glad to know that you'll get those two fantastic kits soon. Sure I'll keep an eye on your new threads to see your WIP images.

All the best,

MM

P.S. I tried to post this yesterday but had a problem logging on. I resorted to FSM FB page and asked for help:

"Hi, I need your help. Something's wrong with your site finescale.com or my account. My name is as you see and my alias there is Model Maniac, a member since 2003. Today I had problem logging on there, the site wouldn't accept my password. I went through 'forget password' recovery process and set a new password successfully, but your site still wouldn't accept the newly set password. I don't know what to do now. Please look into this problem."

I haven't got any reply yet. But today FSM site recognized me without having to log-in. How relieved I am!

Just an hour ago I just got the 3rd batch this month from AI. He finished 2 warplanes and 4 armors in just 6 days! My 5th page this month is coming soon.
