Scratbuild Phonix D1 1/32

Phonix D.1
I am clearing off the workbench to start a scratchbuild Phonix D.1 in 1/32nd scale.  Mostly basswood.  Prop is built up from laminations of paper.  The engine is a 200 h.p. Hiero made of styrene and wire except for the grey parts which are Taurus resin pieces intended for a 160h.p. Mercedes.

also an illustration that it is better to buy tools than kits, I've had these carving tools for over 20 years. Any kits I've had for twenty years and haven't finished are probably never going to be built.

Paul,

Looks like you're off to a fine start.

I couldn't build a scratch hocky puck. It's good to see someone with tools and the motivation to create something like you're doing here.

That Austro-Hungarian bip is an interesting subject. I'll be following along.

P.S. Are you from Maine or Oregon?

Mike

Very nice.  An ambitious project for scratchbuilding, but you are doing a great job.
