Dear People.
need help tracking down a suitable decal sheet . In Scale Aircraft Modelling, March 2003 issue ( the 25th Anniversary one with the Tomcats on the cover) they feature the Tomcat. On page 16, at the bottom is a color ref for VF-1, "Wolfpack", "105"

The text says that VF-1 flew their Tomcats in the adversary role. The illustrated aircraft is in 3-tone grey camoflage with toned-down insignia and emblems.

Anyone know if there is a decal sheet in 1/48 scale so that I can do up my brand spanking new Academy Tomcat in this scheme?
Failing that, and REALLY asking for the impossible, is is possible to get the decals for the Tomcatof VF-213, "Black Lions" shown on page 15 ( disruptive "splinter" pattern of dark olive green over Lt. ghost gray?

i like to try to do the unusual sometimes (i have a 1/48 scale "captured" P-51B Mustang in white/yellow ... well tasty!!)

Any help or advise is much appreciated.

Yellowhammer Models released a 1/48 and 1/32 sheet with the Black Lions, YHD48020. Shouldn't be too hard to find from Squadron.

Thanks Demono69, but that sheet is only half right, if you can see the color ref picture in the magazine I was referring to.
(page 15, Scale Aircraft Modelling, March 2003). I think that most of the decals on the sheet could be used, but the tail markings would be incorrect, with the lion being too big and the lettering being too small.

I was hoping that it would exist in a custom market job, maybe?
Or could it be made up as such?

And don't forget the VF-1, "Wolfpack", "105" 3-tone grey camoflage with toned-down insignia and emblems. This is the one I really want.

I've never seen a low-vis sheet for the WolfPack. It wasn't used very long.

The Lions decal shhet I was referring to is the only low-vis I've found, as well. It may not be completely acurate in tail insignia size, but I feel beggars can't be chosers, unless you feel like ordering a custom sheet.

Good luck!

Didn't see the article in question but two bobs makes excellent decals including low and hi vis VF-213 versions.
