Regia Aeronautica Hasegawa 1/48 ME-109G-6 finished!

Hey Frank, I have enjoyed watching this one get built and your finish is just top shelf my friend, your work with the A/B is just fantastic. Great skills. Job well done

Mike- Thank you very much!  That is very high praise coming from a fellow 109 aficionado like yourself!  Also a relief to hear that the pitot isn't TOO bad.

Karl- I'm with you brother!  Can't wait to see your finished "Karl" for the 109GB.  

Jeremias- Thanks my friend!  I know that you are not a 109 fan, but I appreciate the feedback on this one.  Means a lot!   I use a Badger 100LG with a fine needle, and Tamiya and Gunze paints exclusively.

Wow Frank!!! what a beautiful model! I think is one of your best.... The pain job look fantastic! whaw AB and paints do you use? a flawless finish my friend... like the overpaintd balkan cross on the bottom. I don´t like muh the 109 or 190, or spit, mustangs, zeros and so one... not for the planes, but because i´m tired to see those models... but yours man... I like it! (nice scheme you choose)

Frank, it's always a treat to see your work, what a beauty!  Mottling is perfectly done, along with everything else.  The white theater markings really help break up the the grays and add an interesting visual element, one of the reasons I love Axis Med aircraft.

Don't sweat the pitot tube, it looks about right.  A factoid that most people miss when they build a 109 is that the pitot tube was actually angled downward a few degrees.

Thank you for that, and I am definately gonna use that excuse reason for the bent pitot!

My wife, her family and 3/4ths of the population in this little state are Italian... knowing the way that they drink (home made) wine, I'm sure someone backed the fuel truck into your pitot!

Mike- Sorry, I do not recall exactly the psi I used.  Just turned down the pressure until it seemed "right".  I would guess about 12-15 psi?  For the weathering, I gave her a flat coat with PollyScale flat and then gave her an overall raw umber oil wash.  Some black oils for oil leaks, and a light overspray of Tamiya buff to blend it all together.  Some light gray pencils for scrathes, and sme Mig Productions pigments for the tires/wheels.

Absolutely amazing! Everything is perfect (except the pitot of course )! I really like your antenna rigging... weak spot for me but maybe I can learn something from you sometime!

Why are you afraid of breaking the wing seam to fix the pitot tube? Did you use something other than the kit supplied pitot?

BTW, I really like the Hasegawa 109's... nice kits!

Once gain, amazing work... I absolutely love it! You are truly a master of your hobby!

 Simply stunning my friend!! Simpilot said it all.. What psi did you set your AB at and what method did you use for the weathering?

 And as for the silvering of your decals, it's hard to tell!
