FW190 cockpits?

The right answer is that if you build models for fun it doesn't matter at all.  Put it in and go far it.  Even if you build models to be accurate, I suspect that the minor differences would remain relatively unnoticed by the uninitiated even in the case of judges at the contest.  Your biggest concern will be that the PE set will not have been designed for the specific kit and hence you'll have to do some fiddling to get everything to go into the fuselage correctly.  Just my 2 cents worth mind you.  I built the FW190 that appeared on the cover of the Feb 2008 and a second FW 190 that appeared as an inset on the cover of the Mar 2008 issue of Scale Aircraft Modelling.  The one on the Mar2009 was the Eduard kit but I used many parts from a Tamiya PE set in it.

They're virtually identical.

For a modeler the differences are not visible. To enlighten you and the rest here some images of a Fw190 A-2 cockpit - which is nearly identical to a A-3 and a Fw 190 A-8 ( to show the development).

I have to ask, where what book did you get those pics from.

Checking other references ( in this case Monogram German Aircraft Interiors 1935-1945) here some cockpitshots from a  Fw 190 A-3 and for comparison from a Fw190 A-6. Now its upto you to decide if you want to invest a A-3 detail set in your Butcher Bird.

the drawings and images comes from a german book ( Dieter Herrmann,Ulrich Leverenz,Eberhard Weber - Focke-Wulf 190 A, Die ersten Baureihen, Aiatic-Verlag). Its a book that has its focus especially on the first versions.
