Very cool!  Can you tell us more about your build?  What scale is this, and what kits were the basis for your kitbash?  Do you have any in-progess info you can show?  I'm interested to see how you approached your bash, any issues you ran into, and how you solved them.

Regards,

Brad

LOL!  So eager was I to open the thread that I completely missed the maker and scale in the title, sorry about that!

I'd still like to see and hear more about the build, though.

It helps when the readers can see the image inside the post.

Beautiful model and really cool idea! I always wished Lockheed had tried replacing the two Allisons in the P-38 with two Merlins.

If you click the filmstrip icon in the tool bar above the text box, and paste your image url there, it will appear here in the post.  Makes it easier on the read so they don't have to go back and forth to view the pics elsewhere.

I agree with Hawkeye, it is a little easier to look at, when the pics are embedded in the thread.

Since you're using Photobucket for your host, just grab the image tag instead of the web link.  It's the fourth selection among the links for any pic stored at Photobucket, and starts and ends with the tags, "" ""

I post to 3 different forums. I've tried to post in the thread on this sight and gave up. Finescale is the only one that makes it so difficult to post.

When you reply in or start a thread,  simply click on the little film icon and paste the photo url in the "insert media" box that pops up, then click "insert"...

I always wondered what happened to Bill Kelso after he finished his search for the Japanese... or did he EVER finish?

"1941" is one of my favorite movies, but it gets NO respect, so I try whenever I can.

I always wondered what happened to Bill Kelso after he finished his search for the Japanese... or did he EVER finish?

Ummm... Yeah... He boarded the sub and forced the sub crew to take him to Tokyo after he took them POW... He then released them and returned to the States in 1945...

BTW, according to the book, "1941"... Kelso's mother actually named him "Wild Bill", not Bill or William...   After the war, and this part's just conjecture on my part, I believe he got a business degree on the GI Bill at Wisconsin after 7 years, settled down & got married, moved to Point Place, Wisconsin in the 50s, and had two sons, Michael and Casey, who dated a couple girls named Jackie and Donna...

Sorry for hijacking the thread into more of a forum how-to, but I had to try using the Insert Media feature, since I don't usually use it, I usually just paste the appropriate tag

[View:/themes/fsm/utility/:550:0]:550:0]

There's the pic.

Hmm...it's one more step, compared to just pasting the link into the text.  Six of one, half dozen of another, but an extra step is a hair more complicated, or let's say, a hair less simple, in my opinion.

What if we grab the direct link code--the "http" tag, instead of the "img" tag--and dump that in text field in the Insert Media popup?  Let's step into Mr. Wizard's laboratory...

Hmm...that dumps the image directly into the post.  And here's a try with the HTML code tag from Photobucket...

[View:/themes/fsm/utility/My beer garden in winter:550:0]

Interesting...

It's still easier to use the image tag and paste it into the body of the post.  One less step but suum quique, "Jedem det Seine", the Prussians say.

Thanks for being patient while I tested this!

Regards,

Brad

You also end up with a but of other text that distracts from the image and the comments you are posting. Clean is better IMO, even if it takes what three seconds more to do.
