Thanks Stik, but it's not a Falls bird.  I haven't gotten to any of those yet.  I still have a lot more research to do before any of that gets started.

Came to share a few pics of my favorite plane.  Monogram's old C-47 Skytrain.  Copyright on the kit I had was from 1975.  Which makes it older than me.  Built as "Whiskey 7" from the National Warplane museum in Geneseo NY.

A few pics of the real W7.

Ya know, these vintage Revell and Monogram kits really test your modelling skills. They'll tell you if you're a good builder or not. When they're finished and on the shelf, they look really nice. I enjoy them. Or else I'm a real glutton for punishment. Right now on the bench I have a Monogram F-84F, two F-82 Twin Mustangs, and the old, old Piper Tri-pacer kit!

OK. On the bench:

Fhotofrank, I was discussing the difficulty encountered with building Revell models. His response was, "it is modeling"!

Very smart way to display W7 dust free Keyda. Great looking build. Beer

Recently completed this old 1984 Revell 1/72 Thud. I addded some lights made from metal clothing pins painted with clear blue and red and addded gemstones for the landing lights. The SEA paint was all freehand using my Badger Renegade x fine tip AB and used oil dot color modulation.

I'm aware this is a whirlybird in the Aircraft forum, but it's a Revellogram whirlybird nonetheless. I know not everyone gets over to the Helicopter forum, so I thought I'd post a couple of pictures of my Revell HH-53C in 1/48. There are a few more pictures over on the Helicopter forum in my build thread if you're intersted.

Cheers!

One is the Revell Spitfire II (white plastic) and the other is the Revell of Germany Spitfire II (grey plastic).  Both are 48th scale.  Can't remember which is which but they're the identical kit.  Same front windscreen short shot.  Same difficult fit.  Photos flatter the end result a little bit.  Built them for a friend to auction off at a gala for the local Children's Make-A-Wish foundation.  Model Master Enamels (RAF Dark Green / RAF Dark Earth over RAF Sky).  RoG kit had decals for the sky band on the rear fuselage.  I painted and masked both.  It was easier.  Kit decals settled down very nicely with Solvaset.  Stands are aftermarket from Airfix.

Retired and living the dream!

Very nice model of a very strange aircraft. Go here to read about the Twin Mustang: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_American_F-82_Twin_Mustang

Well done, Nick.  The rigging on the Stearman looks sharp.

That's a tired looking B-25, Lowfly.  Well weathered in a good way.

This is the new Revell.  Really nice molds, super detail - here's my Bronco OOB

Look at this detail... amazing in plastic

I had a minor decal issue - my fault, other than that this kit is on par with the best!

The top is not glued on - just set on

Decal folded over just north of the front wheel - my fault, kit is awesome

Thanks,

John

Keyda,Hi;

I really do like that plane.I believe over the years in many forms they have gone through my hands. Then got given away as I changed Duty Stations. Still like them. Nice Job on the setting too! T.B.

Here's the 1/48 Marauder with the Lone Star short wing conversion, just completed but started two years ago, and the Revell 1/32 P-47D that my 3 year old grandson Alex provided serious help on as it is his plane, cutting all the parts from the sprue and holding things together while glue dried.  He helped during the air brushing by holding the trigger down.  That was interesting!

Treyzx10r>  That's a stunning pair of 410s!  Great work!

John> I love that B-26 Marauder!  Beautiful wing mod.

Like these two guys, this P-40B took a while for me to finish up.  I started it for Checkmateking02's WaW1941 GB and just completed her last month.  The only thing NOT Monogram about the kit are the decals, which the insignia came from the Airfix P-40 kit as I wanted a Pearl Harbor version, and some minor mods to the belly, wheel wells and the radiator flaps.
