Is this the kit that comes with the four figures? I have an A6m5 in my stash that I'd bought a couple years ago on advice from the forums here.  Same kit, or did Tamiya pop another one out already?

Tamiya released two new 1/48 scale Zero kits a while ago.

I've build the A6M5c  the "old" one with the four ground crew waving, which was very nice to build.( I built it in the late eighties of the last century, when I was young..........)

And the new one I built a couple of years ago, which is a A6M5, with four different pilots ( standing), which can be build in two versions, a Nakajima or a Mitsubishi build Zero. And I must say it was a amazing kit to build!!!!!  Very well engineered!

All that scrathing is making me itch!

Nice looking paint job.  I built that kit when it first came out, loved it, so well engineered.

Nice Job.  I have it in the stash from a Hobby Lobby 40% off purchase (back when they carried such kits).  I hear its a real gem.

That's the tough part, the really tough part is when you have to do it when the AB isn't working right.  ARGH.

You basically just have to get the flow right and grip the airbrush like you would a high powered pistol, and then literally almost go into convulsions with your hand.  It's tiring, but that's how I got the effect.

Yes 48th scale, and the camo was just hastily applied from what I can gather from my research.

Interesting camo scheme. Was the green a field applied addition?

Tamiya A6M Zero (New Kit)
Posted by fantacmet on Thursday, October 18, 2012 12:53 AM

This is the newer kit of the Tamiya A6M Zero.  The painting is all done with Tamiya paints.  I only did a filter and some panel line stuff onit so far.  I realize the wingtip lights are not there, but didn't have time beofre I dropped it off at the shop for display.  So this is how it sits right now.  Once I get it back in a few months I'll add those and do the exhaust stains and some more weathering.
