Hey Sled71,

On your first question, I have painted models with both the windows out and windows in. It's much easier with the windows in. Just make sure that you mask your windows BEFORE you glue them in place. It's much easier to mask the windows by themselves than to try to mask them already installed on your model.

As for the color, Army UH-60's are a very dark olive drab. They almost look black. The proportions of mixing the paint sound about right. I mix a flat black with olive drab and use it in my airbrush. Just make sure before you mix the paint that they are compatible. For example, if the black is water-based, then so should the olive drab. Also, before painting, test the color on some spare plastic that you have to see if the color that comes out is what you want. Let the paint dry on the spare plastic so you will know what the color will be like when it's dry.

Hope this helps out.

I am 70% complete with the UH-60, my questions are

1. Should I glue the windows in and mask them? This way I protect the painted interior and the window frames get painted at the same time.

2. What would be the best color for the UH-60. since I have not invested in an airbrush? The directions call it helidrab (60% Black and 40% Olive drab) Olive drab doesn't look all that great.

When I complete the UH-60, I will be adding a 1/35 Commando Hummer as a sling load

Thanks
