It's been a while since I shared anything on here. Here is my latest project, the 1/48 Monogram AC-47 built OOB brush painted with Tamiya Acrylics and finished with Testors Dullcote:

Do the ballistic curtains come with the kit?  Been a while since I've seen the kit in the box!   I saw a C-47 at Oshkosh AirAdventure 2010 in the markings of the AC-47 that a crew member received the Medal of Honor for retrieveing a throwing out a live flare.   It was parked over at the Basler Turbo Conversion Hangar.

Gotta love Puff! Nice job there- especially on the handbrushed Tamiya paints. Not the easiest task.

Nice Spooky, John!  I remember my brother saying that he was on his boat one night when he saw one of these open up.  Like seeing a stream of fire from the heavens, even though he was too far away to hear anything.

Good looking model. A guy I know flew in those and he liked it because of the view, the fact that the bad guys pretty much kept their heads down in their hooches rather than risk popping off a shot and getting decimated.

Modeling is an excuse to buy books.

Thank you gentlemen! Melgyver, yes the curtains came with the kit. I saw that one too when they had it over in the Warbird area for a while. This year will be my 40th year at Airventure, I can't wait!

I've only been twice, but Mike Basler want's me to come this year so will look into flights, I drove the last two times.  1200 miles one way!   Mike lives about 4 miles south of the south end of the runway so see a lot flying over his house.  I was there in 2010 and 2012.  Last year Mike got to fly the EAA's B-17 for a few minutes.  I got to ride in the CAF's B-17 way back in 1979.  Great memory!

Mel, I guess I have been blessed to only live about an hour away. Wouldn't miss it for the world! My wife bought me a ride in Aluminum Overcast in 2009. Coolest thing I ever did. My Dad was an Aircraft Armorer  with the 390thBG, 570th. sqd. so the B-17 holds a special place in my heart. My Dad likely loaded bombs on the original Liberty Belle. It breaks my heart that she burned up :(
