Help for Hawker Tempest V cockpit color......
Posted by Italian Starfighter on Thursday, February 20, 2014 2:35 PM

Hi all..... ...next time I'll start a new built: Hawker Tempest V 1\48 Eduard....so I'm studying this subject and I've find same difference of opinion about the cockpit color. In the istruction sheet Eduard suggest to use Barley Gray, while I was sure it was painted in Aircraft grey green (FS34227)....but serching on the net I've founded on a dedicated site that :"Note, the interior color of all Hawker aircraft from the WWII Typhoon to present day commercial jets is actually satin black, not interior grey/green.".....What do you think about??? This is the link were I've found this info.....check in the "cockpit" section..... http://www.hawkertem...emyPetersen.htm

Ciao from Italy!!

I believe it is all flat black. I've seen some people paint the upper half black, and the lower half British Gray/green (H312). Sometimes on the Typhoon the tubing was painted aluminum. Good luck Enrico! And please post pics of the Tempest here!

I had no idea the cockpits were black. Very informative! I've got one of these in the stash that I intend to build soonish.
