Nice cockpit detail. Eduard's pe instrument panel doesn't look half bad.

I'll be watching this.  I'm building two of these right now.  Out of the Royal class offering.  I went out and bought all the Brassin goodies, minus the engine, for 1 Spit.  So my plan is to have one of 'em all AM'd up and the other built right out of Eduard's box.  So far I've been impressed at the fit of the Brassin accessories.  First resin cockpit I've ever done that didn't require hours of sanding-fitting-sanding-fitting-cursing-sanding-fitting, etc.  

Nice start.  Not only is it the best Spitfire in 1/48 scale, but I think its in the top 5 best period in this scale.  I built the late version last year and it was a truly blissful build.  Here's a link to my WIP thread if you want to see how I did it.

Good start.  I' be keeping my eye on this one.  I'm thinking about doing a spit before long.

hey guys,

its been hard to find time to get down to the bench lately,but here are a couple update pics of the cockpit.

I was finally able to install it and close up the fuse this weekend.i left the gun sight off until I install the canopy,as i didn't want to risk knocking it off while working on the airframe.im in the process of assembling the wheel wells in the wings. sorry for the poor quality of the pics.im in the process of getting that taken care of lol.

Looks great.  Careful with those gear bay boxes.  Another example of Eduard complicating things more than necessary.  I'm looking forward to your progress.  Did you decide on a scheme or perhaps you said and I missed it.

I didn't have any issues with the gear bays.  I feared that step too, but in practice the fit was just fine and the result was seamless.  There was a method to their madness.  Apparently the different wings have different bays and Eduard had to be flexible to allow you to have an accurate wing-gear bay for the Spit you pick.  Their Brassin gun-bays also come with part of the wheel-bay attached.  So when you're adding the gun bay to the kit Eduard made the modeler's life a little easier.
