1/48 Waco Glider?
Posted by Caddyshack on Monday, February 24, 2014 7:18 PM
I've been searching with no luck as to whether or not there is 1/48 Waco Glider kit. so far it doesn't look like there is. Is this only available in 1/72 for the time being? Does anyone know of future release of this size? Mike

Sure: Sanger makes one. I know nothing about that glider- its a CG-4a. But Sanger makes nice Vac Form kits and this one would certainly be relatively simple. Not cheap.

The trick with Vac Form kits it to dig up all the stuff like tires, engines (not an issue here!) and so forth from a donor plastic kit bought cheap somewhere, or your spares box.

Modeling is an excuse to buy books.

Thanks for the info!  About $80.00 shipped from the UK.  Yeah not exactly cheap.  Are vac form kits difficult to assemble?

Vac form kits can be very difficult to assemble, or not too bad. All depends on who the maker is, or if the parts are pre cut from the vac sheet. Cutting out the parts, plus sanding and shaping them can easily be as much work as actual assembly of the kit

My opinion, I wouldnt make an $80 vac kit your first attempt at building one.
