Revell 1/48 Stearman

I did not see the log for your Spearman.  Is it there?

I have not built anything like that, and the rigging makes me nervous about trying it.

A beauty!! Really great when it's a model of one you used to flyI. I have about 45 min in a friends Stearman and leaned what 'wind in the wires' means. Always remember that flight. I  just got the kit last week and put it aside (after peeking at the sprues) til I get some other stuff done. I'd like to see your detail log but can' find it. What color is the tubular frame?Any help? Thanks for posting.

That's a really nice build John.  I've got one on order and plan on painting it like the one my dad took a ride in a few years back.

Wow John, that is a colorful A/C!  So the plane you flew was painted in a similar color/marking, that had to be quite a sight on a clear blue sky.  Nice, clean looking build, the rigging and engine wiring look great.  Is that the pitot tube on the port wing brace?

Now get back to that B-36! 

That is just beautiful. Ive always wanted to build a Stearman and this one is just absolutely inspiring.  Now where did I put that 72nd kit ...

mgh, look in the Trainer GB on this site.  I haven't put it up on my web site yet.  Rigging gets tolerable after a few builds.  Fresh thin CA, rigging clamps, and good magnifiers are the order of the day.

She looks fantastic. This is a must have for me as I especially love trainers and two seat versions of aircraft. The new T-38 and T-28 are a welcome addition to the available trainer kits and this is one more long awaited addition to the group of trainers in modern kit quality. Now we need a T-37 to replace the old Aurora kit in 1/48th scale. What were the paint colors and manufacturer you used? What was used for the rigging?

Thanks.  I'd like to see a new T-37 too, in 1/48.  In 1/72 also, since what is available is only A-37's.

I used  Model Master Blue Angels Yellow and for the blue I used MM Ford Engine Blue with about 20% flat white added to it.  TLAR.  The rigging is an elastic thread I ordered from Wing Nut Wings and is intended for streamline wire.  The javelins are .020 plastic rod.
