Caltech, in today's PC world ya never know. I respect the determination of the kamikaze pilots, but could never admire them. The sailors of "the fleet that came to stay"... wow! From bottom to top, those men had guts! The more I have read on that battle, the more I have admiration and respect for those who fought it. Probably the most hellacious battle of the Pacific in so many ways.
No worries Jibber. I am just kind of baffled at the folks who put these things together. When there is so much actual first rate real life combat footage available, as demonstrated by the Victory at Sea (who also did some of their own studio footage to enhance the drama), especially from a capaign so well documented as Okinawa, why do they feel the need to use that stuff? I prefer to see the real heroes- ordinary men serving their country under extraordinary circumstances, as opposed to actors.
