I'd go with the Tamiya kit, Eduard kits have softer plastic which can make them trickier to build.  As for the painting I'd recommend using the Mr. Color line if you can find it.  They're more accurate than the MM RLM  shades IMO.

I withdraw my Eduard suggestion and second the Tamiya.  The Eduard weekend kit is a bit cheaper, but it is also more complex putting the nose together.

I build 1/48 scale WW2 fighters.

Have fun.

I gather your new to modeling, so I would go with Tamiya's E-3.  Its a gem and more user friendly than the Eduard kit.  For paint, you will need RLM 02, 71 over 65 which can be found in the Model Master line at any hobby shop.  I believe they have acrylic (water based) and enamel paint (oil based) available.  They have the yellow (RLM 02) a well.  Aeromaster makes decals similar to your subject above for Battle of Britain Emils, perhaps even "White 14".  Ebay has a great selection.

Good luck,

Joe

Personally, I would look at the Eduard kits.  Keep in mind that your picture shows the later canopy.  Some E-3 kits will have the earlier canopy.  I'm not sure about some of the markings, however.

I build 1/48 scale WW2 fighters.

Have fun.

Hello,

I am looking for a model kit of the Messerschmitt Bf 109 E-3 in the 1/48 scale, complete with paint to make it look like the one on the picture below.
