He 111 crew hatch question
Posted by jojekin on Sunday, April 6, 2014 6:07 PM

Does anyone have knowledge or have a photo of how the gondola hatch on an He 111 opens?  I'm interested in how/where it was hinged.

Thanks in advance!

John

I have a pic in the Squadron He 111 walk around showing an open hatch from the inside if those links don't help.

I just ordered the "Walk Around".  I had the " In Action" and there were no pictures showing the hatch opened.  Thanks for the information!

John

No, the In Action doesn't help at all. There are pics in the Walk Around of a Museum He 111. I found it really useful last year as I scratch built the rear interior of both fuselages of an He 111Z. Unfortunately, I didn't install the open hatches until right at the end, so have no pics of how they look.
