Not bad at all Marmaduke! Where are you gonna post your F-16 build at/? I've been looking at doing a 1/48th scale version of one of those.

I don't know, I think you did a great job!  This is one of my favorite birds.  There was a guy that owned one at the Mesquite Airport back in the 80s... For a single prop driven plane it was huge!  I always wanted to go up in her, but never did.  Anyway, thanks for sharing!  She's a beaut!!!  Raymond

On the Bench:

U.S.S. Arizona (Revell)

P-51D Tribute (Revell)

57 Chevy Bel Air

looks great to me, some nice subtle weathering details that really do it for me.

Well it's finally finished (except for the antennae)! Sorry I didn't get more in progress pics posted. Truth is, this build was one of those that just seemed to drag on and on. It didn't really turn out as good as I had hoped but that's purely my fault, not the kit's which was great. Glad to get it wrapped up and move on to my 1/32 F-16. Anyhow, here's some pics, don't be too harsh! Thanks for looking!

Not sure why my pictures didn't show up in the last post so here they are...

My least favorite part of modeling, masking all that glass! Ugh!

cockpit is about 90% finished, just a bit more weathering to do and touch ups

and a bit more weathering to do on the sidewalls

That's all for now...thanks for looking!

I finally have a new update. This summer has been brutal with work and family so my bench time is extremely rare. Anyhow, here's what I've got....

I like Avengers alot even though I haven't built one since I was a kid and that was 48th scale. You've gotta have a work bench that's huge to build one of these monsters on in 32nd scale though. Will be following with big interest.

Trumpeter TBF-1 Avenger 1/32
Posted by Marmaduke on Monday, June 9, 2014 9:09 PM

Hello all. This is a build I started about a month or so ago of Trumpeters Avenger. I plan on building it oob except for some canopy masks due to the extensive amount of glass and I plan on wiring the engine. I'm gonna try to keep everyone updated on my progress but I'm warning you ahead of time, I build very slow especially during the summer months.
