Question on a model for a museum bird...

On the other hand, beware these kinds of efforts. I've done a number. There's an old fogey taste usually, in which you get made to feel you are in at the bottom.

Oh, yeah...  I'm all to familiar with academia...  Still....  I'm going to talk with them on Monday and go from there.  I don't want anything out of the deal, other than to offer some small something or other to the many men and women who served aboard this ship, and especially to those who still walk her hallowed halls.  Raymond

It's not so much academia as club politics.

I tried to join a group building a very large diorama of the rail yards in the town where I live.

All volunteers.

But, there were a couple of guys who'd been working on it for a while and ran things. All well and good, but they knew what they wanted help with- cutting and staining thousands of railroad ties.

Kind of like when you volunteer at the pet hospital and they hand you a shovel.

Just go in with a little swagger and keep your back to the wall.
