Hi all,
I made two mini-dio's of recently built Me 163 Komets.
The first one pictures the recovery of a just landed Me 163. The second one shows the last phase of the preparations before starting the rocket engine. I was inspired by original Luftwaffe film footage of the Me 163 trials and operations in 1944.
I adapted or adjusted the figures for these scenes. Heads and limbs had to be cut off and glued in different positions. The man with the fire extinguisher e.g. was in fact holding a 50 kg bomb. The pilot's overall was painted white, as it was treated with neoprene to prevent it from catching fire. Etc. etc.
Ingrediënts:
- 2 Komets (Academy en Heller, 1:72)
- 1 Scheuch Schlepper (Academy)
- several figures from the following sets: Pilots & Ground Crew Luftwaffe (Revell (02400), RAF (Revell 02401), RAF (Airfix AO1748) and USAAF (Airfix AO1747)
- 2 cheap plastic oval photo frames
- 2 selfmade platforms
Cheers,
Jan
