Great buy dog as those Cutting Edge sets can score $30+ each on ebay. Did the seller disclose they were included? That group should have gone for about $70 or more so great catch!

Nope.  He or she must have forgot they wre in there.  Much to my chagrin...Big Smile

That's the guy.  Its nice to see him back but I don't like those prices.  Is he in cahoots with Aires?...lol.  Unless it's a subject you absolutely have to have, I couldn't see spending that.  I will probably keep E-bay as my primary decal source.

I hope I can wait until the group build to start this one.  After my Mosquito, I'm going to build a Pearl Harbor P-40 out of a splice between the Academy/Hobbycraft and the Monogram P-40B kit.  I'm also thinking about pulling out my Accurate Miniatures P-39.   We'll see...

Grats on the surprise goodies there, Joe.

Yes, Dave Klaus runs the the FineArtof Decals webstore.  I can't remember how, but I get periodic emails from him, most recent was on the 4th of this month.  I find the prices high, particularly on those sets that really only contain generic markings and insignia.

Jack

Holy cow, you hit a modeling gold mine! I wonder if the resin gun deck is to make a G-4 out of the kit?

Cutting edge went out of business 10 years or more ago, and I think the guy that runs the site you linked bought up a bunch of old inventory and is just selling it til its gone.

Nice score lawdog! Going to be cool seeing the WIP pics!

Looks like this 109 GB will be epic!

Funny how the feeler thread has over a hundred replies, and now another thread dedicated to this GB! And we have almost four months before it starts!

I am always wary of sites that have an old date on, even if its only last years. But hopefully you wil be able to order from there ok.

You got me curious Bish and I just found that.  I'm eyeing a few 109 and P-40 sheets.  Maybe someday they will start the resin works up again.....

Joe, I don't know about Meteor. I could have been slightly mistaken. I found this site which is dated 2009 2013 and has Cutting Edge decals as well as two other companies. But I think its only decals. At the bottom it does mention Dave Klaus, who is I am not mistaken is the guy who ran Cutting Edge.

Meteor Productions is back? Thats news to me....Whats their web address?  That would be fantastic!  If I remember correctly, the guy who owned it, I think his name is Dave, just closed up shop about 5 or 6 years ago and nobody knows why.  It was a sad day for modelers.....

I do miss Cutting Edge.  I used one of their cockpits in a recent P-40 and was quite impressed.  Maybe someday they will come back.  I hope I can wait until the GB.....

Nice score Joe, looking forward to seeing you build this one.

I didn't know Cutting Edge had shut down. Has someone else taking them over as the site is still up and running.

Very shopertunistic!! This must be a good week for Hasegawa 109's on ebay. I got a 109F "Trautloft" special with a Hi-tech resin cockpit for 20.01, shipped and all. I think your deal still beats mine though!

Its always nice to get a surprise like that. I got one from a Tamiya Hummvee kit a few years back which had two sets of full photo etc in there.

Looking forward to seeing how you put it together in the GB

Ebay 109 score...with surprises!
Posted by lawdog114 on Friday, September 5, 2014 1:24 AM

I'm normally not one to boast, but I had to share my recent doorstep discovery.  I scored this guy off Ebay for $22.15.   I was then surprised by the now defunct Cutting Edge goodies inside and this G-2 comes with a resin nose gun deck and wheels!  I think I found my build for upcoming 109 Group Build.
