Yes that does indeed sound like the old Matchbox SBD kit. It was later reboxed by Revell Germany. And the SBD had a very rough surface- overlapping skin panels and raised rivets. No butt joined skin panels and flush riveting (except on the wing leading edges) on this rugged war horse.

Look around.  Many kits, even old ones, can have copyright information molded into them.  Some even mold it on the _outside_ of the kit!!  Look on the inside portions of the kit parts, particularly inside the fuselage and wings.

Sounds like an old Matchbox kit.  They were well known for molding sprues in "appropriate" colors.

Doubtful Dauntless

I just got a 1/32 Dauntless and noticed that the seams are raise on the wings and fuse, but there are also access panels with recessed lines. Did the Dauntless have raised seams? The kit came in a bag with no instructions (lucky me). A few sprues are marked Made in England and the two lower wing halves are white plastic instead of Battle Blue. Help me solve this mystery while you wait for your decals to set.
