That is just the A/C number, the color was usually the squadron color

Guys, I will be starting my 1/48 Trump F-105d soon, looks like a nice kit :-)

What is this cover on the nose gear? I see it on all the Thuds I can find.

Was the cockpit interior color grey with the side consols and instrument pannel black?
