Check the Internet for B24BestWeb- They not only have pics of "Dragon", but several dozen others, including downloadable screensavers, computer background screens and sound effects. -Ed

Flyshn4JC, where are you from. I noticed you said about Pittsburgh, I live in Latrobe. If we are talking about the same Pittsburgh, you should have came here. I'll try to put the pics on here.

The only pic I know of is in Bert Kinzey's book B-24 Detail & Scale. It's historic importance is that when it was in the boneyard to be scraped, tha scraping crew didn't have the heart to tear it apart, so they let it sit until it was the very last one, then they had to do their duty, and it was gone. There has been conflicting reports about what color was the dragon, some say grey some say green. When the Collins Foundation did it, they painted it bright green, but the Minicraft decals are grey. What color the dragon really was I don't know. The pic from the book shows green, but it doesn't say if it's the real one or the Collins Foundation's.

I would appreciate ur pictures and info very much. I am building the minicraft 1/72nd scale. I'll have to find out when the Collins Foundation plane is coming to pittsburg and go there.

Hey Dan,

I have some info and images that will help, I'll grunge through my stuff and get back. Also what scale are you building? I have dupes of the Microscale decal sheet that has markings for "The Dragon and His Tail", if you need them. I'll get back.

For Christmas this year my uncle gave me a model of the B-24 liberator called the Dragon and his tail. I am trying to find information and pictures of the original plane to aid me in building this model. I cannot find very much on this plane Shy [8)] and am wondering if anyone has any suggestions.
