Pretty cool idea. Yellow 14, in desert camo? I just got done reading "star of africa". By the time the dora came out, he could easily have had 400+ kills, at the rate he was going. One of the countless "what -ifs" from the war. There are also aftermarket filters out there, if your kit doesn't have one.

Very likely. Do you have the necessary kits to do a comparison. If not, I have a 32nd 190D and 109F Trop I can check tomorrow.

Yeah I figured the the shape can be the same assuming some sort of standardized parts.  

I wasn't sure what you were intending, but I did think about mentioning a what if build. Sounds like a good idea, will be looking forward to seeing it. Are you thinking of using a 109 trop filter. I know the intakes are the same shape but no idea if they are the same size.

Thanks Bish.  That's what I figured too but wanted to be sure. Now I don't need to fashion an exact configuration.   doing, or will be soon, a what if of a D-9in N. Africa based on a divergent time line.  Monty wasn't just wounded in WWI, he was killed asond Rommel's campaign was more successful, at least for a time.  And when Marseille bailed out of his new 109G-6, he was not struck by the tail plane and was not killed so it will his mount. 

To the best of my knowledge there were no tropical variants of the D-9. Trop versions of any aircraft seem not to have been built from early/mid 43 onwards, I think the G-6 was the last 109 with the filter.
