Aircraft Process Question
Posted by SNOOPY on Sunday, November 30, 2014 11:30 AM
If I want to use a good primer for acrylic paints on my aircraft, is Mr. Surfacer a good one to use or is this not a primer? Tamiya primer is good when I was doing a car body. I heard Mr. Surfacer was very good but I do not understand the 1000 grit, 2000, etc. Also, can you even get Gunze Sanyo products any more. I have been out of the model building (plastic models)for awhile and concentrated on actual flying models. I am thinking of getting back into plastic model building. I have several to build.

Mr. Surfacer is very good as a primer. The larger the number the finer the grit. 1200 or 1500 is what you want to prime. Its available in a rattle can as well. Its in stock at various times at a few different online stores, you just have to search for it. Its always available on Ebay. Just do a search on the forums here and you'll find a crap ton of info.
